Terms of Service
Last updated: November 4, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Virtual Auto Mechanic ("we", "us") for the use of the Virtual Auto Mechanic website, web app and mobile apps (the "Service"). By creating an account or booking an appointment you agree to them. The customer agreement you accept when booking an appointment also applies and controls where the two overlap.
What the Service is
The Service connects you with a mechanic over a live video call for advice: virtual inspections, help with diagnosis, guidance on do-it-yourself repairs, and opinions on repair quotes. The mechanic cannot physically inspect, test or repair your vehicle. Advice is based on what you show and tell the mechanic and is offered to help you make your own decisions.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of anyone helping you. Working on a vehicle can be dangerous. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, use proper equipment, and stop if you are unsure.
- You decide whether to act on advice from a consultation. For anything that affects safe operation of the vehicle (brakes, steering, suspension, airbags, fuel systems and similar), have the work checked by a qualified technician in person.
- Provide accurate information about yourself and your vehicle, and keep your sign-in email secure.
- Use the Service lawfully and respectfully. We may suspend accounts that abuse mechanics or the Service.
Appointments and payment
- Consultations are sold in fixed lengths at the prices shown when you book. Payment is taken by card through Stripe when the appointment is requested.
- An appointment is confirmed once a mechanic accepts it. If we cannot provide the appointment, you will receive a full refund.
- You may reschedule from the app before the appointment starts. If you miss a confirmed appointment without rescheduling, the fee may not be refunded.
- If a call cannot take place because of a problem on our side, we will reschedule or refund it.
Mechanics
Mechanics on the Service may be employees of Virtual Auto Mechanic or independent professionals who work with us. Either way, they provide advice only, and the limits on liability below apply to them as well as to us.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, videos and documents you upload. You give us permission to store them and show them to the mechanic handling your appointment so the Service can work. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that advice will identify every problem with a vehicle or that a repair performed by you or a third party will succeed. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Virtual Auto Mechanic and its mechanics are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to a consultation is limited to the amount you paid for that consultation.
Changes and termination
We may update the Service and these terms. Significant changes will be announced in the app or by email. You can close your account at any time by contacting us; we may close accounts that violate these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
